The Edmonton Elks' style of play should help keep this game close - it's helped the team go 5-1 ATS this season. The Elks lean heavily on a run-first approach that helps shorten games (4-2 betting the Under) and a defense that's the best in the CFL. Edmonton allows the fewest PPG in the league (23.0) and the second-fewest yards per game (362.2). Meanwhile, the Saskatchewan Roughriders' run defense has been iffy at times and could struggle to contain Justin Rankin.

The Calgary Stampeders want to turn every game into a shootout with Vernon Adams Jr. behind center, but it's led to mixed results. When Calgary plays defensively challenged teams, it tends to shine, but when it takes on quality defenses, it loses. Against teams in the top five in points allowed per game this season, the Stampeders are 0-4 ATS. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers allowed the second-fewest PPG (26.0), and QB Dru Brown should be capable of torching a secondary that allows the most passing yards per game (346.8).

This could have been a high-scoring showdown between two explosive QBs, but then Nathan Rourke got injured in Week 7. With Rourke out, the BC Lions scored just 17 points against the Edmonton Elks, and Chase Brice threw four interceptions. Even against a struggling defense like the Toronto Argonauts', Brice will have a tough time keeping up with Chad Kelly. The Argos' star QB has Toronto ranked top-four in PPG (32.3) and yards per game (440.3), behind the league's best passing offense (356.2).

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have averaged just 14.3 PPG in their last three games, and with Bo Levi Mitchell still out, it won't get easier anytime soon. The Montreal Alouettes have thrived this season behind a high-powered offense that's scored 29-plus points in every game. With CFL MOP favorite Davis Alexander leading the charge, the Als sit No. 1 in the league in yards per game (460.7) and No. 2 in PPG (34.7). It's a big ask for Hamilton to slow down Montreal's attack without an offense capable of keeping up with Alexander and Co.
